Born, raised and based in Dublin, Daithí holds a BA in Music and Irish from NUI Maynooth, as well as an MA in Ritual Chant and Song from the Irish World Academy at the University of Limerick. Daithí has sung with St. Mary’s Cathedral, Limerick, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Dublin, AMRA and The Lassus Scholars, among many other ensembles, both sacred and secular.
Since 2016, Daithí has been a member of Grammy award-winning vocal group ANÚNA, touring internationally as a performer, technician and workshop facilitator. He is also a founding member of M’ANAM, on whose debut album he is credited with Irish/Gallic text translations. He has even joined female group SYSTIR on stage as bodhrán player. With all three ensembles, Daithí has toured through Ireland, UK, Europe, Asia and North America.
Daithí’s 20 years in Scouting have greatly influenced his work, notably at the National Scout Show, where he has been involved as technician, performer, Musical Director and Band Leader. Other lines of Daithí’s work include sound and light tech with P.H. Systems, and background artist in TV series such as VIKINGS and feature films like The Last Duel.
In 2020, Daithí furthered his interests when he qualified as a professional Family and Funeral Celebrant through the Irish Institute of Celebrants. As of 2024, he is registered with the Irish Ethical Celebrants Society.
It is this culmination of trades and hobbies, and his dedication to each, that provides Daithí with a unique identity and set of skills.
