Daithí Ó Nuanáin

Singing Celebrant

Pet Celebrant

Born, raised and based in Dublin, Daithí’s interests in life have led him down multiple paths. His love for music and the Irish language brought him a BA in both subjects from NUI Maynooth. His passion for performance and ritual led him to the Irish World Academy at the University of Limerick, where he completed an MA in Ritual Chant and Song. Having sung in multiple Cathedrals since finishing his studies, Daithí currently sings with The Lassus Scholars, primarily at Latin Mass in Harrington Street, Dublin.

Since 2016, Daithí has been a member of Grammy award-winning vocal group ANÚNA, touring internationally and assisting with various workshops and Summer Schools. He is also a founding member of the Irish/Icelandic men’s ensemble M’ANAM, featuring on the group’s 2019 self-titled debut album (on which he is credited with Irish/Gallic text translations) as well as on the ‘RTÉ: Shine’ series in 2020.

Daithí’s volunteer duty as a Scout Leader has greatly influenced his work. His most notable contributions are seen at the National Scout Show, where he has been involved as a technician, a performer on stage, and even in the pit as Musical Director and Band Leader.

Other lines of Daithí’s work include sound and light tech with P.H. Systems, and serving as an extra in TV series such as VIKINGS and feature films like The Last Duel.

As 2020 shook the world, Daithí looked for a new way to turn his passions and interests into relevant work. It was then that he, like so many others, took to online courses and qualified as a professional Family and Funeral Celebrant through the Irish Institute of Celebrants.

It is this culmination of trades and hobbies, and his dedication to each, that provides Daithí with a unique identity and set of skills.
